WHITNEY HOUSTON
R&B BOMBSHELL
Not right, but it's okay Fifteen years ago, when 23-year-old model-turned-singer Whitney Houston exploded onto the pop scene, her fashion sense was pure fickle youth. "It was the eighties," Houston says. "I dressed like a teenage girl": big hair, baggy tops with leggings, and sparkly jackets. In the nineties she turned to more outrageous looks: a glittery Versace bodysuit and bold creations by Azzedine Alaïa and Jean Paul Gaultier.
One moment in time Since 1999 Houston has gone for a textbook diva look. Stylist Patti Wilson has stayed away from big accessories and let Houston's swan neck be the star. "She's relaxed nowshe doesn't need flash," she says. Whether in a pink Ungaro gown with a fur stole or a Roberto Cavalli silk dress, Houston dresses with confidence. "And she always wears the hottest shoes," says Wilson.
