Will There Be Any Wilderness Left?
Within 50 years or so, probably not.
One of the unfortunate facts of our rapidly populating planet is that there
are fewer places where people don't have some sort of environmental impact.
Those that still exist -- much of Antarctica, pockets in central Brazil,
parts of Tibet -- face the same fate as previously-remote areas such as the
Grand Canyon: becoming carefully-managed areas overrun by well-meaning
backpackers.
